All Wales People First / Pobl yn Gyntaf Cymru Gyfan

Darren Locke, Chair of the All Wales People First’s National Council and Chair of Powys People First and Jonathan Richards, the Ceredigion Representative to All Wales People First, spoke of the work of All Wales People First as an organisation that links self advocates across Wales.

 

They gave a bit of background information on the organisation, what it does, how it empowers people and helps to improve the lives of people with learning disabilities, as well as what participation meant to them.

They also spoke of the role of the Learning Disability Implementation Advisory Group, which is made up of people from all areas of society working with people with learning disabilities. Each representative feeds back the work of the group to his or her organisation and represents the perspective of his or her organisation to the group. It also advises the Welsh Government on all issues around learning disabilities. It is key in forming Welsh Government policy for people with learning disabilities. Its work keeps learning disabilities on the agenda.

Fe wnaeth Darren Locke, Cadeirydd Cyngor Cenedlaethol Pobl yn Gyntaf Cymru Gyfan a hefyd Cadeirydd Pobl yn Gyntaf Powys, a Jonathan Richards, cynrychiolydd Ceredigion ar Gyngor Cenedlaethol Pobl yn Gyntaf Cymru Gyfan siarad am waith Pobl yn gyntaf Cymru Gyfan fel corff sydd yn cysylltu hunan eiriolwyr ym mhob rhan o Gymru.

Fe wnaethon nhw roi ychydig o gefndir y mudiad, beth mae’n wneud, sut mae’n grymuso pobl a helpu i wella bywydau pobl sydd gydag anableddau dysgu, a hefyd beth roedd cyfranogaeth yn meddwl iddyn nhw.

Fe wnaethon nhw hefyd siarad amdano rôl y Grŵp Cynghori Gweithrediad Anabledd Dysgu, sydd yn cynnwys pobl o fod rhan o gymdeithas sy’n gweithio gyda phobl gydag anableddau dysgu. Mae’r cynrychiolwyr yn bwydo gwaith y grŵp yn ôl i’w mudiadau ac maen nhw’n cynrychioli safbwynt eu mudiadau nhw i’r grŵp. Mae’r grŵp hefyd yn cynghori Llywodraeth Cymru ar faterion sy’n berthnasol i anableddau dysgu. Mae’n allweddol mewn ffurfio polisi Llywodraeth Cymru ar bobl sydd gydag anableddau dysgu. Mae ei waith yn cadw anableddau dysgu ar yr agenda.
